Corporate Social Responsibility
The ICENI Centre warmly welcomed Colchester General Hospital’s Bicycle User Group (BUG) on March 22nd providing an opportunity for members to gather together in our reception area. The event was held at the Centre, as part of our Corporate Social Responsibility towards the environment and well-being of staff within the healthcare community. This innovative project has been set up to encourage healthcare workers to cycle to work, helping to reduce the impact of car emissions on our environment and gain improved well-being through potential weight loss and improved fitness.
During the 2 hour drop-in event advice was given on route planning, useful equipment and bicycle maintenance.
The ICENI Team hosted the 3rd International Controversies in Hernia Surgery Conference on March 1st & 2nd. The event’s reputation for a lively debate has grown worldwide as delegates attended from as far afield as Australia and Greece. First class faculty from across the UK and Europe shared their knowledge and experience with a view to improving patient outcome and help further develop the attendees’ hernia practice. If you missed out this time then make a note of next year’s conference – March 21-23 2018 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Stansted.
