4th International Controversies in Hernia Surgery Conference

The ICENI Centre, in collaboration with the British Hernia Society, held the 4th International Controversies in Hernia Surgery Conference in March. Year on year this conference’s reputation grows as an opportunity for delegates to meet first class faculty, hear their experiences and debate a host of hernia issues with them.

This year, practitioners attended from across the globe, including developing countries such as Nepal, to help further enhance their hernia practice and improve patient outcomes.

On close of the meeting, Professor Roger Motson, announced his retirement as a member of the organising committee, as well as Director of the ICENI Centre.

Lord Bernard Ribeiro, a fellow pioneer in the use of minimally invasive keyhole surgery, who was in the audience thanked Professor Motson for his contribution in forging the use of laparoscopy within the UK and training surgeons to develop the practice both nationally and internationally over the last 30 years.

Professor’s Roger Motson will continue to support the ICENI Centre in his new role as President.
