6TH International Controversies in Rectal Cancer Conference

On 12th & 13th of December the ICENI Centre hosted another successful meeting, bringing together colorectal cancer experts from Brazil, several European countries, as well as nationwide.  The specialists in this field of medicine shared their expertise and the latest information pertaining to the ever more complex issues of decision making to provide optimal treatment for patients.

As always, the audience challenged the speakers with tough questions that created lively debate over the two-day event. Conferences by ICENI Centre are designed to challenge and keep up the debate about various controversies. Sessions are there to stimulate thought, always with a window wide open for asking questions. Some of the recent advancements in rectal cancer management have required us to think outside the box and challenge our traditional views. Valuable ideas for research and clinical management are likely to arise from such dialogue as well as encourage people to think beyond their limitations and embrace uncertainty and think of alternative approaches to this disease.
