Soft Tissue Cadaveric Course

The new decade heralds a new learning environment for ICENI Centre delegates!

A mobile lab was parked outside the Centre for two days during a cadaveric soft tissue course.

The workshop was organised in partnership with surgical equipment manufacturer, Arthrex.

Apart from surgeons and registrars from Ipswich and Colchester hospital, the T&O course also attracted 24 regional  trainees across the East of England.

Course Leader, Consultant Mr Alam, said the advanced training skills workshop will directly benefit patients as trainees can perfect the abilities they need to operate safely and efficiently.

“It’s quite rare for registrars to get this opportunity, but it’s a quick and safe way to upgrade people’s skills and knowledge”, he said.

“They are able to practise and enhance their skills in a safe environment, giving them a real feel for the tissue and anatomy before they use the techniques they’ve learnt to operate on a patient in theatre.”

The course, held on January 15, is planned to be repeated, later in the year.  For more information contact: amy.sinclair@esneft.nhs.uk
