Accreditation

The ICENI Centre’s reputation for delivering first-class education and training to healthcare professionals has been upheld following a re-accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

It first received the award in 2013 and following its latest inspection by the professional body has been granted a reaccreditation until March 2024.

The Centre is part of East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT) and its mission to provide training, aimed at advancing standards of surgical care for patients, is central to the ethos of the Trust.

2021 has seen the upgrade of our simulation suite which now includes state of the art augmented & virtual reality equipment to support training in robotic surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, endovascular, ophthalmology and endoscopy.

Under the leadership of Clinical Consultants Adam Howard, Greg Wynn, Barry Whitlow and Manager, Peter Cook, the ICENI Centre will further build on its international reputation for first class training in the above specialties as well as develop the curriculum to encompass all healthcare professional training, research and innovation and surgical/medical fellowships.
