Essential Surgical & Laparoscopic Skills for FY Doctors Course

Date: Thursday 30th May, 9.30am-1.00pm

Course Fee: Free for ESNEFT staff

Introduction for Nursing staff into basic surgical & laparoscopic skills including:

Different methods of suturing including interrupted; continuous; mattress; subcuticular & the knotted suture loop
General principles and methods of knot tying
Local anaesthetic infiltration
Laparoscopic skills

All trainee FY1-3 doctors within the East of England are welcome to attend this course FREE of CHARGE

A course that aims to familiarise foundation year doctors with basic suturing skills, theatre etiquette and knot tying

Venue: First day at ICENI Centre, Colchester Hospital, Turner Road

Second day organised in Theatres at both Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals

Suitable for: ESNEFT FY1 & FY 2, and East of England FY Trainees

Fees: FREE for FY Trainees in the East of England

Course Includes:

Day 1: Day of simulated surgery. Including Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Robotic Training.

Day 2: Day in Theatres observing live surgery.
