Essential Surgical & Laparoscopic Skills for FY Doctors Course

Introduction to basic surgical & laparoscopic skills including:
- Different methods of suturing including interrupted; continuous; mattress; subcuticular & the knotted suture loop
- General principles and methods of knot tying
- Local anaesthetic infiltration
- Laparoscopic skills

Foundation Year Surgical Taster Course
Dates: 2025 Date TBC
Venue: First day at ICENI Centre, Colchester Hospital, Turner Road
Second day organised in Theatres at both Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals
Suitable for: ESNEFT FY1 & FY 2, and East of England FY Trainees
Fees: FREE for FY Trainees in the East of England
Course Includes:
Day 1: Day of simulated surgery. Including Laparoscopic, Endoscopic and Robotic Training.
Day 2: Day in Theatres observing live surgery.
