Successful 10th edition ATLS course at ICENI Centre
The successful relaunch of the Royal College of Surgeons Advanced Trauma Life Support, at the ICENI Centre, took place in June.
New ‘outstanding’ modern equipment, purchased for the 10th edition of this course, together with the inclusion in our faculty line up of resuscitation officers Emma Thomson and Katie Seal was regarded as a ‘game changer’. Both nurses considerable experience running ACLS courses came to the fore in setting up the equipment and supporting the course throughout the two days.
Delegates carried out real-life intervention scenarios in basic airway manoeuvres; insertion of chest drains; examination of pupils; intravenous access and taking blood; administration of intravenous fluids; loading of patients into vehicle and supplemental oxygenation.
Our next course is planned for Spring 2022. Follow us on twitter @ICENICentre for the latest updates.
